Creating an informed and compassionate community that understands poverty through a Different Lens.

Everyone has a role to play in solving the crisis of poverty. Get involved and understand our community systems through a Different Lens.

Before we can collaborate on solutions, we must have a shared understanding of poverty. Our Poverty 101 Sessions explore the dynamics and myths of poverty for attendees from all sectors.

We hold sessions the first Wednesday of the month from 1pm-3pm at the Journey Museum.

Poverty 101 sessions are provided by Tracy Palecek of Palecek Therapy & Consulting.

We each navigate complex systems every day, be it housing, childcare, transportation, healthcare, or the workforce. Through our Poverty Escape Room, we encourage participants to experience these community systems through a Different Lens, one that considers the barriers, stressors, and realities faced daily by people living in the crisis of poverty.

We hold sessions the first Wednesday of each month from 10am-12pm at the Journey Museum.

Poverty Escape Room is facilitated by Black Hills Special Services Cooperative.

Are you a social service professional? Participate in our monthly Different Lens Coaches Network meeting. We provide support, networking opportunities and resources for social service professionals who navigate alongside those who experience poverty.

We host Coaches Network meetings the second Monday of the month from 11:30am to 1pm at Love Inc.

“The Coaches Network weaves the individual threads of service providers into a more cohesive tapestry. The network provides each participating group a chance to learn about available services and to identify opportunities for clients.”

-Shelbi Thompson, Project Recovery

Coaches Network meeting information can be found on our Facebook Page.
